Wow. Pretty sure this is the best December snow we’ve had since…2017?
Snowshoes door-to-door today. Enough coverage from start to finish for no issues with snowshoes the whole way. Because of how cold it’s been, the trail is still not very consolidated. The loop around the summit cone, in particular, is very powdery.
We saw a mix of people in spikes and snowshoes. Just about everyone that was carrying snowshoes ended up putting them on. There’s a great opportunity to set up the track really nicely before the incoming storm/thaw/freeze at the end of the week. Trail is primed for great snowshoeing now, so go get it! |
