Comments
Comments: Broke it out solo. Almost turned around many times. 4” or so of fresh on Rocky Branch, which is still annoyingly bony at times, especially in the first 2 miles. Easy to get to the meadow, but the 1st bushwhack was basically totally drifted out. I cut wayyy too far left after the meadow and wound up in rough terrain and .25 down Iso. And this .25 was awful with waist high drifts. Rocky Branch was an easy crossing. Iso express was drifted in many times, and at times I was able to find the previous path. But I was breaking it out thigh deep at times. Davis path had HUGE drifts to my chest. One thing about a solo out and back is I got to take advantage of my own handiwork on the way back. I took a much better route to the meadow on the way back, but had to break it out, occasionally finding the prior path. If you’re hiking this weekend, make sure you don’t follow the first set of tracks that go left after the meadow. If they’re not blown over by tomorrow that is. And if they’re not, you’re welcome. It’s broken out.
