Headed up to Galehead to tag it for my third round of 48. Made it to the hut in 2.5hrs, wasted about 45 minutes between the summit and eating. Headed over to Garfield via the Ridge Trl, stopping at the Ridge Campsite to eat. Gorgeous day out! 3 hours across the ridge to the summit of Garfield. Lots of postholing in snowshoes. Wore shoes from 3 miles up Gale River Trl to about 2.5 miles from the summer trailhead of Garfield. Definately still needed up on the ridge, would have been awful without them. Great day to be out, the weather beckoned me to keep going. |
