Parked in the ski area parking section across from the trailhead. Got there around 10 am and had no problem finding a parking space. |

Wore my snowshoes right from the start to the end. It's a bit boney, but I prefer that to walking in depths of snow that feel like beach sand. If you decide to wear spikes, keep in mind that the snow depth makes it difficult for microspikes to grab any ice below. I would recommend Hillsounds. My snowshoes worked great and I benefited from the televators on the steeps. At the "summit" junction, both routes to the peak are broken out. There were nice views at the peak. With the clear sunny skies, you could see all the way to Mount Washington. For skiers, Waterville Valley is open and today they were making lots of snow. Saw a few skiers on the slope. |
