Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking lot unplowed. If you could get through the first 6' the lot itself isn't deep. But where the snow is piled up leading into the lot is deep. I didn't trust going in with a small AWD SUV. Maybe a big truck or 4wd Jeep but it's kinda dicey. We parked above the lot in the pull off which we had to shovel ourselves.

Comments
Comments: Loose unconsolidated slippery snow anywhere from 2-4" down low to 8-12" up high with occasional higher drifts. Snow was too deep for bareboots or spikes but too bony for snowshoes. We opted for SS but had to contend with occult rocks and finding occasional occult holes. The televators helped on the East O steeps. I had trail crampons for the descent but my friend only had SS so we opted to go to Big O then down to Tripoli Rd where a friend picked us up. I'd definitely bring SS and either good spikes (but you will age them on the rocks but better than falling). The area above the East O steeps all the way to a mile below the summit of Big O is nice SS conditions. We kept on SS until a mile from the trailhead them switched to bareboots because it was only 2" of snow and lots of annoying rocks. Then we switched back to SS for the road walk as it was soft and being groomed for XC skiing.
