Mile of road from the gate to trailhead was fairly icy with a light dusting of snow. Gorge brook up to around 3200ft was mix of packed snow, ice and exposed rocks. Above that was mostly packed snow with minimal ice up to the tree line. Above tree line there were some icy sections with exposed rocks up to the summit. I wore studded trail runners the whole way and never put on my microspikes. They would have been helpful for the first mile especially. I do a quick trip report in my podcast at link below. |
