Super windy day on Monadnock! Trace snow the whole way. Smith Summit trail wasn’t easily found above Monte Rosa — the small white blazes on rock don’t stand out from the snow. Glad there were some bootprints in the snow - I felt like a detective at some points. Fun trail, though! Ice patches on the upper mountain made the trails more technical than expected. I didn’t wear any traction as the trail was mostly exposed rock, but saw a few in spikes. |
