Trails: Kinsman Ridge Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Tuesday, November 25, 2025
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: You can still drive over a little snow hump into to the trailhead lot, but the ski resort is clearly trying to block that up with any snow they get. Still, the added walk is too minor to matter.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Blue, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail is buried under snow. I like looks like it probably has some serious erosion issues in other seasons, but packed snow made it a non-issue
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a happy dog at the summit

Comments
Comments: Perfect time to nab Cannon via the Kinsman Ridge Trail. There’s packed snow from parking lot to the summit, with just a few icy slabs. Hillsounds were perfect. Kathoolas would work. No balling of snow. No need for snow shoes unless there is another storm between this post and your trip. It was a straightforward walk to the summit and an easy trot down.
