Comments
Comments: Solid snow pack the whole way. A few inches starting at the parking lot, building up to a foot or two near treeline. The ridge has some drifty spots, but even those have a solid packed path through them. You certainly could wear snowshoes on the ridge if you want to, but I managed fine in just spikes without postholing at all. Not really enough snow for snowshoes below treeline.

Just south of Lafayette's summit there were a few postholey herd paths from people who had gotten off trail, but there is a solid packed path if you stay on it. No views on the ridge today, it was socked in the whole time I was up there. Navigating was pretty easy despite the low visibility, there's a nice trench to follow the whole way.
