Comments
Comments: Having snowed several inches of fresh powder, the trail down low was a mixed bag. Sloppy wet spots mixed with powder spots. We put on rock microspikes at the junction with Mt Osceola Trail and wore them the rest of the way. High winds caused a lot of drifting and some wind blown icy spots. Once we got up on the ridge we probably would have benefitted from snow shoes but spikes were fine. Chose the bypass of the bypass to get up the chimney. Other options looked sketchy. Some knee deep drifting on the ridge but wasn’t much of an issue. Made pretty good time hitting the peaks and getting down, only to find my car had been towed by Lincoln Police, for parking in the winter parking spot we have all used. Take that as a warning to all.
