Sandwich Notch Road was a little icy this morning. When we went back to pick up my car, at least up to the Beede Falls lot was melted. |

There is a decent size blowdown between Squam and Percival that unfortunately fell right into the trail. Didn’t have a lot of great options to navigate around it either as it was in a patch of assorted puckerbrush. |

 | Comments: |
Fun day for a Squam Traverse with Harlow. Thought we were going south to avoid the early onset of winter conditions up here and were promptly greeted with several inches of snow/ice on the ground when we started. Footing wasn’t great, we carried spikes but barebooted all day, I wore my trail runners w/o much issue. Aside from Percival to Morgan there wasn’t much activity out there. Ladders on Morgan are icy, as are the boulders above them, proceed with caution. Livermore, Cotton and final decent were snow free and back to worrying about regular stick season assassins like slippery leaves. |
