Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Easy rock hop about 200' upstream. Rocks were a bit slick, spikes strongly recommended.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Cleared all blowdowns along the trail, trimmed back a few egregious branches between the viewpoints, but it's still going to be a carwash with any fresh snow weighing the branches down. Will address that in the spring!

Lost and Found: Packed out a sandal that was sitting on a rock at the river crossing

Comments
Comments: A FABULOUS day was had by all!

I arrived to the parking lot just as a dozen members of the BU outing club were gearing up and getting ready to hike up. We seemed to have a pretty similar pace, and I had a great time chatting with them, pointing out a few artifacts along the way, and sharing a few bits of local history that they were unaware of. Arrived to the first viewpoint to mostly socked in views, proceeded to the viewpoint just beyond the summit and had similar conditions, but after just a few moments, the clouds partially cleared and we were treated to a fantastic undercast view of Garfield and the Franconia Ridge. Upon returning to the eastern viewpoint, we had a stellar view of Mt Washington, and then more clouds cleared away and we were treated to views of South Twin, Zealand, and Hale peeking through like islands in the undercast!
