 | Comments: |
Nice crisp morning, temps were below freezing overnight so the ground was nice and cold and there were patches of ice on rocks that were wet. This was a good ten mile loop. We mostly were able to stay on grippy dry rock but to be expected the Oak leaves were crazy slippery and even the patches of spruce needles were frozen and were like slippery marbles. We saw three pairs of hikers along the way and three other people on Mt. Major that all had dogs. In the woods it was nice hiking weather and all the time we carefully watched our steps It was windy cold on Major good views all around but to the north the clouds were low behind Mt. Shaw so maybe it was snowing up north? This completes my Belknap November month. |
