 | Lost and Found: |
There were glasses and pants on a table at the depot. Also a lady lost her phone coming down from Avalon, I called it for her and it rang but it must be somewhere on that trail. |

 | Comments: |
Trail was wet with not as much new snow as I expected. I had 5 inches at my house, but only 2 inches or less in Crawford Notch. There were some knee deep drifted sections but also bare rock and ice between Pierce and Eisenhower. No snowshoes needed but be careful not to posthole through ice into water. I was expecting the same on the way to Jackson but it wasn’t as wet that way. Saw fresh bear tracks and met one other hiker halfway. It was a fine day up high with low wind and a bit of sun through the clouds around noon for some magical views. I wonder if there were good undercast views from higher up on Washington. |
