Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Snow - Wet/Sticky
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I specifically picked this route to avoid serious water crossings. There is one very small crossing on North Twin Trail right before the turn for Fire Wardens. It was flowing but is small - I had just one step on a submerged rock (because I am short)

Comments
Comments: Tenth time up Hale, first time up Fire Warden's Trail (I picked it to avoid serious water crossings). North Twin Trail was wet, Fire Warden's was wet. Just a bit of snow up higher, maybe 3-5" - it was heavy and wet and like mashed potatoes mixed with sand. There was a set of tracks either from the day before or earlier in the morning. Yesterday spikes were not much help but now with a couple sets of tracks and the temps dropping, spikes would be smart for the next couple days. Even still, it's a very short stretch that even has any snow/slush/ice. Overall okay conditions, albeit a wet day between the trail, and the rain towards the top. Trail is a gentle ascent and a little longer than Hale Brook Trail. Did not see anyone else out there.
