Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues with the smaller brooks, but the major crossing on little river took a little time to find a safe crossing. Headed up stream for more than 50 yards, without finding any rocks that would keep our feet dry, we opted to cross over tree limbs that someone had ingeniously piled together over the rushing water. It was a sturdy pile, and a straight shot across the bank and up the hill reconnected with the trail. Thank -you!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of tree trunks across the trail required a very high step over.

Comments
Comments: 50 degrees at the trailhead, winter conditions at the summit. It’s time for the winter gear! Trails were a mixed bag, mud and running water on most of the trail down low, and slush with sporadic water holes as you gain elevation. About 6 to 7 inches of snow at the summit. Spikes went on after a slip and fall, about half way to the north summit, and stayed on until the snow disappeared on the descent. Still too bony for snowshoes

Headed back after north since the south peak had already been checked off for Nov. and the late start would have ended the hike after sunset.
