 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
couple larger blowdowns on Precipice Trail: 1 near top, 1 further down. Lots of purple blazes on Precipice Path, then, near "waterfall" (no water in it today at all despite water in nearby rivers) I lost the blazes completely and just bushwhacked down to flats |

Terrific day in the belknaps. Saw total of maybe a dozen folks on my 9 miles. Did loop clockwise. Some places were really tough in terms of footing with slippery leaves. I fell at least 3 times, one of which I had a rock dig into my back. Had never been on Precipice Path - probably would have been better if I hadn't descended that way - just took a really long time, being careful not to fall - this trail scared me. Bottom of Precipice near Old Stage Rd I took an unofficial trail that ended up crossing on a pretty substantial beaver dam. Great views from Klem and other outlooks. |
