Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: This was a multi days for us to film all we were looking for. The 1st day we parked at the Plainfield Elementary School. (Parking is allowed there during non school hours.) The second place we parked was off Columbus Jordan road with parking for about 6 cars.

Water Crossing Notes: Took the Ira and Sara Townsend bridge across Bloods Brook 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The French's Ledge's trail are blazed in 3 different colors and they will all get you there. Red is the longest and the blue and yellow are shorter routes to the summit. It got a little confusing, but there trail sign with names to follow too.

Dog-Related Notes: Dogs are allowed. We left Piper home the first day, but took her on the second day.

Comments: This was an awesome adventure. We love exploring abandoned places.There is lots of trails and lots of history to see and a couple ski jumps too. The first time we came here was 3 years ago. The abandoned ski area buildings were in a lot better shape than they are now. We were disappointed to see that the 'A' frame base lodge is completely demolished. The ski hill dates back to the mid 1960's as part of the Kimble Union Academy's ski program. It ran until 1974 and has pretty much been abandoned since. We did post our video of the ski area for anyone interested in seeing the area. Just click the link...
