Parked at the north branch of Imp and went counter-clockwise. Below 2,800’, it’s pure 3 seasons without even a dusting of snow. The first snow appears just below Imp Face, and it builds quickly from there. I put spikes on just below the junction with Carter-Moriah, and I think getting across Carter Moriah without spikes would have been extremely challenging. There were extensive areas of ice that very much demanded spikes. I took them off just below Zeta Pass, where the snow again diminishes rapidly and then disappears around 2,600’. By the junction with 19MB, it’s back to 3 seasons without trace snow. Gorgeous day out there, awesome views of Washington and friends. |
