Comments
Comments: We’re, slippery leaves to start hiding lots of small loose wet rocks and roots. Trekking poles helpful for me. Light patches of snow as we continued to ascend. Some wet, muddy spots as well, not icy. A couple more vertical spots had rocks with slush and were a little sketchy, but still didn’t use spikes. Those same areas in the way down required a bit of backward stepping. Soft, sticky snow, maybe a much or 2, between Starr King and Waumbek with some deeper breakable icy mud in just a couple spots. No traction needed for entire hike.
