 | Comments: |
Trails were wet down low this morning with some areas of pooled water (this year's new step stones make the worst section no issue now). Plenty of wet leaves too.
Snow started to stick around 3,000 feet in elevation. Some rocks glazed in rime ice or black ice as well. Snow was no more than a coating (was still snowing late this morning). I had no issue barebooting, but it's not a bad idea to bring light traction at this point, as the freeze/thaw cycles could make things unexpectedly slippery.
Ski trails appear to be fully mowed. Do not go directly down the main lift line, as you'll reach an active construction zone (even on weekends) a little below midstation with excavation equipment and blasting. Ski trails may not be viable for hiking once snowmaking starts (hearing it could be as soon as the middle of the upcoming week).
Cold morning with brisk winds and the sun breaking through down low. Snow flurries throughout. |
