Comments: Beautiful day: stunning cloud formations lit by brightening sun/blue skies. Warm & no wind. Pretty good views to the presies/pemi/etc. Although I had good visibility to the ridge, I had some trouble seeing the white cairns in the fresh snow on the ascent up Lafayette, so I switchbacked a lot for good footing up to the summit. Also, I couldn't really see much of the trail along the ridge so I just hugged the ridge as much as I could. I was going to do the loop but when I got to Mt Lincoln, I couldn't see anybody over towards Little Haystack & I was afraid I wouldn't find the opening to Falling Waters, so I backtracked up over Lafayette again. On the way down, the melting snow clumped so badly on the snowshoes I eventually took them off about a mile below the hut and just barebooted the rest of the descent. Not many out.... a great day!
