Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings on Liberty Springs were manageable, rocks mostly slippery. Poles recommended as grip on trail runners isn't as helpful in these wet and cold conditions.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Blow downs minimal on Liberty Spring. Flume Slide trail has some that are easy to navigate around. Blazes are sparse, but overall trail is very easy to follow. Old Osseo trail in better condition than some other currently maintained WMNF trails. Blazes from 1980s still visible. Blow downs on this trail are abundant.

Comments
Comments: Rather than attempting the slide in conditions that are less than ideal (wet, no fully frozen over ice that warrants crampons and ice axes) choose another route up Mt Flume as the erosion on the sides of the slabs are noticeable due to hikers taking round about ways. I highly recommend bringing multiple pairs of gloves on this hike as I went through 3 pairs due to wet conditions.
