Comments
Comments: Late fall conditions present on the lower summits and in the valleys today. On and off snow showers all day, though the valleys and summits below 3000' were just warm enough that the snow melted on contact. Potash summit was cool, with a much colder wind chill. Make sure you are prepared with plenty of extra layers. Much of the trail was dry, but many of the rock slabs in the forest were wet. I didn't notice any being slippery, but always exercise heightened caution on wet slabs. Fall colours are mostly gone. A few trees here and there have peak colour, but most have either lost their leaves or the leaves have turned brown. The tread on the trail is still pretty easy to follow, but check periodically for blazes just to make sure.
