Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Love the new trailhead! It is 0.3 mile south of Route 2 on Bangor Street... the old trailhead is closed (as is the old trail). The new trail leading from the parking lot (moderate size- probably could squeeze 6-7 cars) is super! Though I miss the old one, this is terrific (thank you!)

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Just one very small stream crossing on planted stones in the newly cut approach trail from the new trailhead on Bangor Street (0.3 mile of Route 2). Very easy walk over. It is tiny. That is the only crossing of the day :-)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few old blowdowns- easy go over. 2 seemed a bit new- again easy to go over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw 2 lovely dogs enjoying their ascent (as we were descending)
Bugs
Bugs: None (Yay!) :-)

Comments
Comments: Today, was rainy for the first 2.5 miles (snow beyond that)... made the rocks slippery. As anticipated, the steep slabs section was slow going but doable (no snow on that section today). We turned around at 3.9 miles because the snow had accurate well above the area of Quimby's Pillow... and had a little guy- didnt want to risk that last 0.3 mile section with him below the summit. But we LOVED the snow, and revisiting Mt. Surprise and Quimby's Pillow areas :-)
