I hiked the Skookumchuck to about 3,200', then headed northish along the nose of the broad ridge. There was a trace of snow, it was delicious! It was very easy going to the summit of big Bickford. I proceeded toward Scarface, but the nose of the ridge became thick with spruce and since I don't hike for lists I opted to stay in the nice birch glades and just zigzag my way around the western slope for a while and made my way back down. This was a sweet autumn hike with lots of fresh and older moose sign. |
