Lethe is Spikes highly encouraged above about 3600 feet!
Hiked most of this in the dark. Trail was wet for sure above about 1500-2000 feet, and trace snow amounts started about 3400 feet. By the time I reached the Carter ridge, snow was solidly covering the ground, about an inch, and spikes were critical for solid traction. A show shower came through while I was up there.
