Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Tripoli Road is passable for all vehicles. The road shows some wear in places at the end of the hiking and camping season. Tripoli Road closes during the winter season. The sign at the beginning of the road states it is closed in November. In the past, this road has been open until weather conditions prevent safe passage.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Due to yesterday's rain, Eastman Brook was running high. The best crossing is on rocks and an island about 20-25 yards upstream from the designated trail crossing. Take care as some of the rocks are covered in moss so they may be slippery. One hiker decided to walk through the water on the trail rather than using the upstream crossing. One other hiker slipped on the mossy rocks and smacked her shin. There is a second smaller brook not far from the Eastman Brook crossing. This crossing was not as difficult.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail in good condition. Many fallen trees have been cut on the ridge between Mt Tecumseh and West Tecumseh. There were a couple of toppled trees that were about 7 or so feet above the ground. The short spur to the top of West Tecumseh had some evergreen boughs intruding into the pathway. There is a small fallen evergreen alongside this spur. Since it was cloudy I was unable to assess whether the view of Moosilauke is still visible.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine for dogs. None today.
Bugs
Bugs: Saw a moth.

Comments
Comments: There were seven hikers on the Mt Tecumseh Trail heading up from Tripoli Road. The trail has generally good footing with only a few short steep pitches. Otherwise, the grades are moderate. The only real challenge was the crossing of Eastman Brook.
I did not find the wet leaves to be particularly slippery. I used caution on the wet roots.
No views due to the clouds.
I had a nice chat with Mike (trail name frozen belts) from Mont Vernon NH at the summit. Also met hikers from Hopkinton MA and Amesbury MA as well as a family from Woodstock NH.
When setting out to descend from the summit, be sure to correctly orient yourself so as not to take the wrong trail. There is a large sign at the summit for the Mt Tecumseh Trail pointing the direction to Tripoli Road.
