Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: the former Carter-Moriah Trailhead located at the end of Bangor Street in Gorham, which has had "no parking" signs posted over the past year or so, has been relocated with two new parking locations: one is almost a quarter mile before the end of Bangor Street in the small open area near power lines on the left side as you're driving in from route 2, the second "new" trailhead can be accessed by turning left onto what looks like a new dirt road when you first turn onto Bangor Street from route 2 ... trail crew were installing new trailhead signs at the new Bangor Street parking area in the morning, and crew members were also working on the new 0.2 trail section that leads into the woods from that new parking area ... the other parking area mentioned above (which i did not drive in to check out, but trail crew said that dirt road is rough) also has a new 0.2 mile "East Link" trail section which meets up with the new Bangor Street trail section near a small bridge in the woods ... trail crew said that the former Carter-Moriah 0.2 trail section starting up from the former parking area at the end of Bangor Street is now closed ... we used to park on Railroad Street in downtown Gorham next to Gorham Common, then walk Washington St to Mill St, then cross the foot bridge to access Carter-Moriah Trail via Bangor Street ... we don't need to access this trail that way anymore ...
