Comments
Comments: Follow the birch trees! Rocky Branch up to the height of land went super quick. I looked around at the HOL, even poked in to see how bad the woods were and they weren't great. I think going this way generally ends in consternation and aggravation. Thankfully hearing from other reports, I backtracked on Rocky Branch to just uphill of the wilderness boundary and dove into much more open woods there (around 2850ft). Heading in a general SW direction, following birch glades, led near the summit which began to close-in in spots, but as bushwhacking goes, very straightforward. Found the jar, signed in. Others had mentioned just follow the moose "tracks!" Great early morning adventure.
