 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Careful not to block forest road gate adjacent to Plummer's Ledge Natural Area in Wentworth/Rumney. Forest Gate is locked and states wheeled vehicles prohibited. Somehow that didn't prevent someone driving a truck up the logging roads while I was there - must have used some other access point. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
There are some very aggressive dogs at Gate area - some version of Cerberus, the dogs of Greek mythology that guard the gates of the underworld were once again on duty. It's been a while since I've been here and the same thing every time. They can be sweet-talked if you can talk high-pitched but they scare the heck out of you meanwhile. Obviously they are off-leash. Have a stick or steak ready. I wouldn't bring a dog here. |

I love love love this area for the fields, old apple orchards, and old logging roads. I had a better gps app this time and was able to get a better idea of where the Stevens Brook Trail was for the start (logging roads and old logging roads just after stream crossing on vintage culvert with old old rivets). I only got about a half-mile up the Stevens Brook Trail once I took the left turn after brook but pretty sure I was dead on once I cut into woods. This area has been obscured by logging but you can still figure out where first parts of trail were. |
