Comments
Comments: If there is any elevation on these series of trails, you won’t notice it. Colonel Whipple was narrow and a little obscured at times but easy enough to follow. Lots of bog bridges. It was raining during this hike and the chicken wire on the bog bridges was much appreciated. Both Cherry Pond and Little Cherry Pond were nice enough, but there really wasn’t much to see. I considered doing the Mooseway trail, but it is clearly labeled ‘winter use only’, so I didn’t do it…tempting though. The Mud Pond trail, as mentioned, is stone dust for about half of it, then a nice boardwalk for the remainder. It is wonderfully maintained and easily accessible to everyone.
