Absolutely perfect day to knock out my 70th TW peak. Three of us made fairly quick work of getting to the summit of SW Twin and quicker work on the way out. There are multiple entrance points for the schwack - if you find yourself in the thick almost immediately, back out and move south along Twinway a few feet - a better entrance will become clearer. The knob is a great guide keep it to your right on the way in and on your left on the way out - stay slightly below it and don't get in the thick (although there are some small thick spots that are unavoidable).
Use caution when relying on smaller trees for stability or support - many are so beyond dead that they will start to fall over with a light touch. The final few hundred feet to the top is reliably open and is along a faint herd path. |
