Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Most are long gone but watch out for the yellowjacket nest about 3/4mi below galehead on twin brook trail
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Pretty new LL Bean hiking pole conveniently marks the location of the yellowjacket nest on twin brook trail... it was abandoned in great haste. If you are brave enough (or once its guardians begin to hibernate) to retrieve it, let me know. In the found dept, gray sweatpants maybe half ish way up bondcliff climb

Comments
Comments: Been lots of interest in water levels on the bonds... they are very low. Black brook on the bondcliff trail peters out around 2500', the 2200' crossing has some but nothing beyond that. I just refilled at the hut so didnt detour to the guyot tentsite to investigate. Otherwise just a picture perfect day in the mountains. Clear, dry, cool, not a cloud in the sky. Foliage is definitely going, but can tell that it's being muted by the drought. We need some rain!
