As noted in Liam's report, the east entrance of Hedgehog Road from Deadwater Loop Road looked rough, so we took the west entrance, parked west of Whipple Ridge and ascended in good woods. The register was full right down to the last page, so we added a fresh register. We returned the same way, and continued driving south on Hedgehog Road, then took a left on a Spur Road and followed it to a grassy area and a gate, and the road became an ATV road and the Cohos Trail intersects it at that gate. We followed this road southerly to the HOL and a nice view east, then ascended to the west in open woods, and returned the same way. |
