This is in a neighborhood that already had barking dogs, I wouldn't recommend taking a dog here. |

Things have changed on this peak since the last report in 2022. The northern end of "Sherman's Loop" shown on Gaia is now a private driveway and does not wrap around to the south. The southern end of Sherman's Loop is also a private driveway. We drove around to the east side on Hillside Drive to see if there was an access point; we found a section of woods that was not posted and bushwhacked steeply up, only to find a newly built cabin ("Casey's Cabin") and sheds sitting squarely on the summit. There was no one around, so we did a very cursory scan for a RHP, and not surprisingly, found none. If we had known this is now private property, we wouldn't have made the effort. The cabin doesn't have a lawn with grass, so there's not a big open area around the small buildings, and you don't realize it's private property till you actually pop out of the woods and onto their driveway. Unless someone can verify that the owners still have a RHP and are fine with random bushwhackers sauntering around their property, I wouldn't recommend going back here. |
