 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Very limited parking at Hancock Notch Trailhead. I parked along road (where there weren't signs) and didn't get towed - there were quite a few cars here as well just outside entrance to parking lot proper. |

 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
rock-hoppable |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Once past Wilderness Boundary sign on Cedar Brook Trail, deadfall is ever-present. I knew I was getting close to Camp 24 when all of a sudden there was less deadfall and better maintenance. There is 1 very large blowdown mess about a mile above Camp 24 with herd paths on both sides. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
why not - there is still a lot of standing water and water dripping on trail even in the drought. Must be springs next to/along trail that don't ever go dry. |
|
 | Bugs: |
none, for a change |

OK, so, I didn't want to deal with a lot of people, but, unfortunately, you have to hike through a lotta people to get to the less-used trails. Was glad to avoid the 2 hancocks and still get 2K elev gain by going up and over the col near wilderness boundary - got 1K on either side. I was thinking about going all the way to the Wilderness Trail but decided when I got to Camp 24 that I was good. Turned around there and went back uphill - I love this section of the Cedar Brook Trail so I was more than happy to do it twice. Jogged quite a bit of these trails and really enjoyed them. |
