| Comments: |
With high winds on Washington we opted for Moriah. Needed spikes for the ice down low by the river. On the ridge I switched to snowshoes and promptly switched back to spikes as the snow was very soft and there was exposed rock on the ledges. Only post holed twice as the trail is well packed. We had spectacular views from the ridge and summit. Even got to sit on the summit for 30 minutes. Felt like cheating to call it a winter hike. Great to see Hiker Ed and friends. Tomorrow looks like a day to play hookey. |
