Part 1 (no dog). Ice Gulch Path was unique & challenging. Yes, there was still some ice in the boulder caves! Rocks were little slick with condensation at higher elevations. Abundant hobblebush on top of Cook Path. Many moose droppings. Dry & fast.
Part 2 (with dog). Loop up Carlton Notch Trail then down Mt Crescent Trail. A few streams along Carlton Notch Trail were flowing at a mere trickle, enough for the dog to drink. Took Peek Path on the descent for Redlining purpose - trail was a little bit obscure due to seasonal foliage.
Overall great conditions along all these RMC paths. RMC has (temporarily?) closed a the most southern segments of Boothman Spring Cutoff and Mt Crescent Trail - these closed segments route through the private properties along Randolph Hill Rd. |
