Comments
Comments: Perfect day for this hike. Early start to catch sunrise on A, which was amazing! The usual puds on the Cats, then down to the hut. Lots of blowdown work done on all trails, which was considerable last December. We stopped at the 1st lake & we heard a loud animal noise in the direction of the smaller lake. Can’t really describe it, it went on for only a little bit, but it definitely stopped us for a few. We made our way over there, water level shockingly low. We saw some rather large prints that had been heading towards us, then back. I’m no track expert but it wasn't a bear. The whole time we could hear the hut, so it wasn’t afraid of them. No one at the hut heard or has seen anything recently, so just be aware. Trip up to Dome was the usual slog. We were solo here & on Hight, views were amazing here. Over the Carters & down the driest North Carter trail I’ve seen. We attempted Lethe, went as far as the herd path would take us but could still see a high point so we don’t think we hit the summit.

Saw all the FOT48 groups hiking or setting up. Ran into a woman heading to South to finish her 48.
I gridded out all 3 Carters for my 1st ones done.

Thanks to Erik for a great hike! Big Day Brewing to replace calories
