Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Brook was so low it was barely a trickle in 2-3 crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Older blowdown on Brook Tr. About 0.3 down from N. Straightback link has well-established walk around on the left, but clearing it would probably mitigate erosion.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: FB reports of bees didn’t materialize although we kept a watchful eye. The S.Straightback summit cairn may have a small nest as a few were buzzing there.

Comments
Comments: First time here since the lower trail revision where gravel switchbacks and granite stairs replaced the highly eroded first 0.3 mi or so. While earthen trails are always preferred this reroute was a welcome change imho. Superb dry conditions and fantastic weather in this nice little loop. The N. Straightback Link/green trail is thinly marked and we lost it for a piece when it descended a tricky ledge near a blowdown.
