All three bonds from Lincoln Woods today. Trails in great shape. Lincoln woods tr. Very little snow, icy base. Bondcliff trail was well packed to the top of Bondcliff. Used micros until just before the scramble at the top and then switched to a full-crampon. Trail seemed very narrow due to height of snow pack. Ridge was icy—doable in snowshoes (many were) but I opted to use a crampon until near the top of Bond when I switched to snowshoes. Had to break some light powder up to Bond. Broke trail through some fairly deep drifts when dropping back off of Bond. West Bond spur was very quick and easy as there was only a couple of inches of new snow over a firm base. Half a dozen others followed, packing all trails. |
