Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Sawyer River Trail near the trailhead crossing was rock hoppable. Sawyer Pond Trail near the trailhead required very tricky footwork on wobbly rocks (wading would have been only calf deep with these current drought levels).

Trail Maintenance Notes: I recollect a few blowdowns on the Sawyer Pond Trail side of the traverse in the vicinity of the logging road junctions.

Comments
Comments: Trails were quite dry, even after the rain yesterday. A few very minor patches of mud.

Didn't seem like anyone spent the night at the pond last night. Trails very quiet today.

A few hints of fall foliage.

Chilly, sunny start this morning (officially making August 2025 colder than normal as measured by NWS), with temperatures moderating and clouds building by lunchtime.
