We used microspikes to spring with minimal snow depth. We wore snowshoes from spring to Mt Waumbek. Snow was very soft. Light traction needed for about 40 yards of blue ice on trail above the spring. You can bypass the ice with a side trail on the right. Nice warm day. We found a trekking pole basket on the trail. I have it. Email me at dletourneau@comcast.net.
