bit of a break today after a busy week and took care of a hanger. 19 mile brook soft packed out by a group with sleds and a snowboarder..beautiful walking with micro spikes until the last steep section before the Notch where the surface softened and we switched to snowshoes. Wildcat Ridge Trail packed out.. postholed badly about to the slide but person must have turned around. Solid trail across the slide but not much of a trench..chicken me used crampons there on descent. Butt sliders had smoothed the trail most of the way which made for very nice grippy ascent in snowshoes. Had a couple of pretty good slides ourselves. Crystal clear day ..chilly but not much wind here today. Great day out with Valerie |
