Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Driving up that road (after FR 325 splits off) is worse than hiking nearly all of the terrifying 25 trails. Egads. Steep, lots of ruts, and very narrow. Not my cup of tea, though my Subie did just fine.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Wow there is some very recent and beautiful ax work! Thank you!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: This route has great footing for dogs!
Bugs
Bugs: The main ledges had excessive swarms of black flies (I was wondering where they all went - oh look, I found them, yay). Other than that there were blissfully few bugs today.

Comments
Comments: I haven’t hiked this since before the relocation (because driving the access road gives me nightmares) but I am revisiting the 52WAV with my pup Echo so here we are. The first time I hiked this I missed the unmarked spur trail to what the 31st edition tells me is an “excellent view up the Rocky Branch valley to Mount Washington.” Yesiree that is quite the fine view spot, and better than the main ledges, IMHO. What is really neat is that you can also see the Wildcats and Carter Dome, and from this persective Pinkham Notch actually looks like a notch! This is a really nice hike with great footing for most of the way. The blueberries are just starting to ripen (yum!). Thank you to the landowner for continued access to this route!
