Cutesy little very lazy presi traverse as I needed no summits and was there for the car spot & moral support. We started at 2:45am up Valley Way (moist af climbing outta the thick clouds) and hung a right up Upper Bruin to watch a killer undercast sunrise on the very windy stretch of airline (I only had to retrieve my hat & headlamp outta 3 or 4 bushes, thanks wind). Popped back into the trees on Airline Cutoff so I could get water at the hut and watched the rest of the sunrise from Star Lake. Then back to the hut & standard route up Adams and over to Edmands Col. I stayed on Gulfside all the way to the summit spur to Washington (tragically was too early for pizza). Went around Monroe on Crawford path and tagged Franklin, Ike & Pierce on the way down to the car. Passed so many (100+?!) people heading up to Washington on our way down to Lakes. |
