Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The only major one was pretty easily hopped (water isn't too high).
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The upper portion of Old Paugus trail, particularly the section between Big Rock Cave and Bee Line, is in pretty rough shape. Some spots are so thick with blowdowns and debris that it's difficult to navigate, and it's really grown in in spots. Could really use some attention.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Our 50 pound doggo had some trouble on the lower part of the rock slide on Old Paugus (and she's done 36 of the NH48). So medium sized dogs might need some help there. Having done the entire slide before (the actual trail veers off halfway up), I don't recommend the upper portion for dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: Deer flies were fierce on Cabin Trail on the way down.

Comments
Comments: I felt like I was hiking in a sauna today and the temperature wasn't even that high. I've hiked in rainforests that weren't as humid. This weather is killing me.
