Overall great weather and amazing trails and views as always. We did this as an overnight, staying at Guyot. I forgot how taxing day one of this hike is (Apple health estimated ~2200 active calories burned, plan your food accordingly). Friday (7/11) was HUMID and felt very hot. The climb up Zeacliff was brutal as a result. Clouds parted for views though, had an amazing sunset on West Bond, and plenty of water this side of the trail. (Last stop for water going up is a stream about 0.4 miles from Zealand hut, then you’re on your own until the Guyot campsite. First water coming down the Bonds from Guyot was about 2-3ish miles after leaving Bondcliff, the third “stream” crossing.)
Day 2 was less humid, trail at the top was mostly dry with some slick rocks from recent rains and humidity. Insanely beautiful views on the ridge and surprisingly quiet trails for a weekend. Long walk out but trails were in good condition. |
