There are two new-appearing stepovers between the wilderness sign and the Tom Wiggins junction. The first is a mighty paper birch, and the second is a skinny but long pole. That birch could probably be taken out with a hand saw but whoever did that impressive axe work in the switchbacks below the summit might be needed. Both blowdowns are easy to get over. Thank you WODC for this terrific trail!
We hiked out and back and didn’t see anyone else until we were back below the main water crossing. We were poking around on the view ledges around 8:15am because there was some pretty spectacular undercast! The rock steps never cease to impress me - that is some really beautiful work! |
